Question 1

How long does an MOT take?

Accepted Answer

An MOT takes about an hour. We book one vehicle per slot rather than stacking them, so the test gets the time it needs and you get the car back when we said you would.

Question 2

What is the difference between an interim, full and major service?

Accepted Answer

An interim service is the oil, filter and a safety check, suited to short-trip or low-mileage cars. A full service adds the air and cabin filters and a far longer inspection list. A major service adds the longer-interval items such as spark plugs, fuel filter and brake fluid. If you are not sure, tell us the mileage and how the car is used and we will say which it needs.

Question 3

Do you service cars at my home or workplace?

Accepted Answer

Yes -- servicing, oil changes and inspections are carried out at your address across the area and East London. An MOT is the exception: it legally needs a DVSA-approved test station, so for that we collect the car and bring it back.

Question 4

Will servicing here affect my manufacturer warranty?

Accepted Answer

No. An independent garage can service a car under warranty provided the correct parts and schedule are used and the work is recorded. We stamp the service book and itemise everything done.

Question 5

Will you tell me before carrying out extra work?

Accepted Answer

Always. If we find something beyond what was booked we stop, tell you what it is and what it costs, and you decide. Nothing extra is done or charged without your say-so.
